M-KOPA / MASTERPASS QR INTEGRATION

THE SOLUTION
Customers participating in the pilot will receive an M-KOPA device at a discounted rate in return for using this new payment mechanism. This trial aims to glean insights into consumer behavior and achieve full integration between M-KOPA and MasterPass QR, potentially expanding its use into new markets in the future.
Mastercard will introduce an existing API that enables merchants like M-KOPA to integrate directly with MasterPass QR for payment notifications, bypassing the need for notifications from the acquiring bank.
