At a media preview on Wednesday, March 14, at Pizza Hut Singapore's SAFRA Punggol outlet, a groundbreaking pilot project was introduced, marking a collaboration between Mastercard and Softbank Robotics. The centerpiece of this initiative is a Humanoid Robot, designed to revolutionize voice-based commerce experiences. This innovative partnership aims to explore new dimensions in customer service and transaction efficiency, leveraging cutting-edge robotics technology.

The partnership between Softbank and Pizza Hut Singapore marks a pioneering move in the fast food industry, introducing the world's first use of robot assistants. The Humanoid Robot stands at the forefront of this innovation, designed to assist diners in navigating menu options, providing personalized recommendations, and facilitating swift, secure digital payments through Masterpass—Mastercard's digital wallet service.

To leverage this seamless checkout experience, customers simply need to greet the robot and link their Masterpass account with the Pizza Hut Singapore mobile app. This integration signifies a significant leap forward in enhancing the dining experience, combining the convenience of modern technology with personalized customer service.

Real-life Pizza Hut diners experienced a groundbreaking moment by placing their first voice-enabled dining orders with the Pepper robot and completing their payment through Masterpass. This innovative interaction represents a significant milestone in integrating advanced robotics and digital payment technologies to streamline the dining experience.

Our team undertook comprehensive usability testing, engaging Pizza Hut stakeholders alongside a wide array of users. This crucial phase allowed us to closely evaluate and enhance the user interaction and overall experience with our service, guaranteeing it aligns with the diverse expectations and requirements of all involved parties.

The successful realization of this project was the result of a collaborative effort involving key partners: Pizza Hut, Mastercard engineers, Soft Bank, Tekbotics engineers, and myself. Together, we combined our expertise and resources to bring this innovative vision to life.
